Fake and sample number (licence) plate photos

733-Ebay world-plates South Australia Indonesia Cyprus fake replica number license plates

Since at least June 2018 Ebay seller world-plates from Taipei in Taiwan has been trying to sell These plates. He says they are all used and implies they are genuine plates. They are all mint plates and none are genuine. He needs to start being honest in his adverts and admit his plates are unused fakes/replicas instead of trying to cheat collectors like this.

All these plates are souvenirs, replicas or made-to-order specials and are not genuine.

The South Australia plate is a souvenir made years ago by the Adelaide Number Plate Company. It is one of many with this 'registration'.
The Indonesian plate is made in a back-street shop in Indonesia and is missing all the official stamps in the plate as well as being an incorrect design.
The two diplomatic plates from Cyprus are replicas. Does anyone really believe that a seller in Taiwan has genuine mint plates from the Russian or German ambassadors in Cyprus?

The big problem is going to come later when some of these plates get into the market. From a photo during a sale or trade it could be difficult to tell if the plate or plates are genuine or not to someone without the correct knowledge.

This just makes everything difficult for everyone. Reproductions are very bad for the hobby and if you care about the future of the hobby, it is better you do not buy reproductions, especially such poor quality ones like this seller makes.

ALWAYS check what you are buying against photos of genuine plates...there are many on the internet, on collectors' websites and the various photo archives of plate societies.
